I studied Fine Art and Italian at the University of Exeter and painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. I went on to study a masters at the University of Oxford and was awarded a PhD on 15th-century painting techniques from Birkbeck College, London.
I mainly paint landscapes, exploring light and colour in their most expressive forms. The landscapes I paint reflect what I see as well as what I feel. The paintings also give a sense of the ever changing nature of different seasons and time.
More recently I have been painting life in Martinique. People, places, trees.
